Learning Commons
Welcome to Immaculate Conception's Learning Commons!
Upon entering the learning commons the environment is welcoming for staff, students and members of the community. The space is set up for both learning and relaxation.
The learning commons has experienced change and growth over the years. The SmartBoard and Technology Cart have been great additions to the library.
Immaculate Conception is a part of the 21st Century Library project. Through this project the library has been granted a technology cart that holds chromebooks and iPads. Both staff and students continue to discover and learn through the use of the devices both in and out of the library.
The SmartBoard is an excellent teaching tool that enables students to learn more about the library and how it is organized with greater ease.
Mobile furniture allows for quick set up for a class or can configure for a meeting/presentation with ease. Club chairs give students a chance to relax while reading or doing schoolwork. A variety of resources such as videos, professional, fiction , non-fiction, and picture books support the curriculum and faith.
Each class visits the library once a week. During these visits students have a chance to exchange their books and learn more about the learning commons.
Feel free to check in at the office and then stop by for a visit!
